MOTHER'S DAY OUT
The Heights "Mother's Day Out"
The Heights offers a "Mother's Day Out" program for children ages 4-months to 5-years-old, or the year prior to kindergarten. We promote physical, social, emotional, cognitive and spiritual development through biblically-based, hands-on learning. This weekly schedule includes Bible stories and verse memorization, a weekly chapel, seasonal celebrations, and both vigorous and quiet indoor activities and outdoor playground time.

Each age group utilizes a well-planned, thematic curriculum that emphasizes age-appropriate skills to lay the foundation for future academic learning. Activities are organized using learning centers that may include Biblical stories, art, dramatic play, music, science/nature, fine motor skills, listening skills, cognitive skills and scheduled individual and group activities. In addition, we will provide opportunities for your child to work and play together as a group in a friendly Christian environment, to gain new skills, to form good habits, and to learn to be a responsible member of a group. The Heights Mother’s Day Out utilizes the Play and Worship curriculum coupled with daily Bible stories and exciting learning opportunities.
Your child’s day will begin with a warm welcome, morning snack, and opening activity. Beginning with our 1 year old age group, each class will rotate through Recess, Teaching Time, Bible/Music Time, and Sensory/Art Time. Our art projects will be hands-on and age appropriate. Lunch follows the rotations, then on to nap time. Each child is encouraged to rest quietly before preparing for pickup. Remember, each day is different and these schedules are meant to be flexible to meet the needs of the class. At the beginning of the year, a rotation schedule will be posted. Special activities and parties will be announced throughout the year.
Our employees must first be willing to demonstrate Christian values as role models for our children. The hiring process includes a criminal history background check, and our employees are trained in first aid.
What To Bring
Snacks are provided daily by our program. Each student should bring the following to school every day:
Full change of clothes appropriate for the weather, including underwear and socks
The Mother's Day Out classroom distribution is based on age. We currently offer 5 classrooms with each class being taught by a trained MDO teacher and MDO assistant. Each room is designed specifically for the assigned age-group and is maintained according to the highest of standards.
