Senior Pastor: Dr. James A. Miller

James and Linda McNeal Miller were married for almost 62 years. Linda passed away on October 29, 2025. James is blessed with two sons and two grandsons.

Before becoming a pastor, James was pursuing a Master’s degree in the computer field. He had been a computer programmer in the engineering department at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas. Following his engineering experience, he was employed by Texas Electric Service Company as a systems analyst in the financial department. Unable to resist God’s call to ministry, James accepted the pastorate of a small church and pursued his Master’s and Doctoral degrees at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary while leading two churches.

Believing that the Word of God, the Bible, is the only reliable guide for life and the key to experiencing real joy in this life and eternity, James has devoted himself to sharing spiritual truth in a way that can be applied to daily situations individuals face.

Education Minister: Alexis Blair

Alexis oversees the educational ministries for kids through adults. She is passionate about equipping people to know and grow in their knowledge and love for the Lord. Before serving at The Heights, she served several years at a growing church in Florida. Alexis has a bachelor's degree in Christian Ministries & Bible and Theology.

Worship Leader: Diego Manosalva

Diego leads the worship and tech ministries of The Heights church. Diego has a Master's degree in music and many years of leading and teaching music in church and educational settings. Diego and his wife, Andrea, are also leading a Spanish church in their home and are passionate about reaching Hispanics in San Angelo.

Financial & Building Coordinator: Linda Russell

Linda has served at The Heights for many years, as a lay leader and on staff. Currently, she oversees the church finances and building operations. Linda is passionate about teaching, making disciples, and serving the Lord. Linda is devoted to her family and enjoys the blessing of two granddaughters.

Administrative Assistant: Vicki McCollum

Vicki provides support in the church office during the afternoons. She uses her gift of organization to keep the office running smoothly. Before joining The Heights team, she served in various administrative roles. Vicki and Don have three adult children and six grandchildren.

Administrative Assistant: Diane Johnson

Diane provides support in the church office during the mornings. She oversees our church communications. She has prior experience in a variety of administrative roles and is a regular volunteer at her church.

Minister of Outreach & Evangelism: Buddy Helms

Buddy serves as a lay leader in our outreach ministries here at The Heights. He is passionate about evangelism and teaching others how to share their faith. Before joining The Heights, he served as a pastor for many years. Buddy is blessed with a wife who serves alongside him.

Mother's Day Out Director: Renee Taylor

Renee leads our MDO program. She has years of experience working in preschool/childcare environments. She is passionate about teaching and caring for children. She delights in ministering to the babies and kids in our Mother's Day Out program. Renee is blessed with a husband and 2 children.
